Gerber Daisies

NEW LOGO I
My daughter was here visiting for a week and on her last evening here brought me a bucket of Gerber daisies home from her best friend Mandy's place. Mandy's family grows Gerbers in a huge greenhouse and supply the flowers to stores all over the mainland.
I didn't even have enough vases for all of them, so mason jars etc work fine to hold this bounty!
I couldn't even begin to pick my favorite colour of Gerbers. I love them all. How can you not be happy with a house full of Gerbers!
I even like the back end of them, although my hubby doesn't quite get that!

Sunshine in a flower!
I simply love them, always have.

I love the back of flowers as well. I think we don't always look at the whole picture. Turn something over and you have a whole new perspective!

A little artwork!
Hope you enjoyed my flowers. I simply had to share them with you all!

Project 52 - Collections

Project 52 - p52 weekly photo challenge with Kent Weakley
A couple of pictures of what I collect!
I have lots of eggs, all different sizes and designs.
Stone eggs, painted eggs, beaded eggs, jade painted eggs, ukranian eggs etc! If its an egg and a design I have not got, I collect it!

This is just a small sampling of eggs!

Fall a bit Early

Photo Art Friday
I took my camera into work one sunny day for my fellow co-workers to see. I had talked enough there about this obsession of mine and they had come here to check out my photos.
I let one of my co-workers named Alex try his hand at taking a photo.
This is one of his photos that he took, I just tweaked it a bit in photoshop and added a bit of texture as well. I promised I would put it on the blog for him, so here it is!
I hope he comes in and sees his picture!!

Apple Time

MM3
The plan today is to replenish our supply of Honeycrisp Apples and also pick a bag to send back to Alberta with my daughter for my sister.
MellowYellowBadge
I wait all year for these juicy delicious apples, and they don't last long on the trees. We go to the orchard and pick them fresh off the trees.
I think a lot of other people have the same idea!

Garden Finds

My daughter is in town for a couple of days and on one of the days we went out for lunch at Tanglebank, which is a huge nursery and garden with a newly built bistro. We wandered around the gardens and I took these two photos while we walked.
These roses were gorgeous, sad they won't be around in a short while.

Project 52 - Birds/Flying

Project 52 - p52 weekly photo challenge with Kent Weakley
Its been a long time since I've flown into this blog and posted! Its been a busy week!
These photos of geese flying over seem kind of like me a bit in the last week.
A long ways to go and formation a little bit scattered!
Suddenly its the first day of Fall! Where did the time go?
My son's birthday is tomorrow! Wishing Eric a wonderful birthday! I'll phone you in the morning!
Have a good week everyone!

Petunias in passing

Linking with http://www.simpleasthatblog.com/
I love the changing of the seasons from the hot summer days into the cooler fall like days of this time of the year. The leaves start turning colours and falling, the air is crisp and fresh and the nights are cool. It is perfect walking weather!
In the beginning of Summer when I bought my hanging baskets, this basket containing petunias that were almost black in colour really caught my eye.
Now at the end of Summer where the days are noticeably shorter and the nights are getting colder, it is just about impossible to keep these alive. I have watered and fertilized as much life as I think these baskets have left and they are almost gone. It is those cold nights where the temps dip down to five degrees I think that spell the beginning of their ends.
I have enjoyed them though, as have others who see them and remark about their unique colour.

Project 52 - Hobbies

Project 52 - p52 weekly photo challenge with Kent Weakley
It's hard to show my hobby when I am using it to take photos, so I thought that while I used my hobby, I would show you my hubby's hobby at the same time. He has a fleet of remote control Helicopters, which as you see are liberally decked out with Batman stickers, which incorporates another one of his hobbies. He has a huge collection of everything Batman!
We flew these around the house today, and took a bunch of photos of them flying and parked.
This Cobra is the prettiest of the helicopters, at least I think so!
Another one of my hobbies is trying to figure out Photoshop, so the bottom photo is actually three photos put together.
Its a good exercise trying to take pictures of these things in the house. Lighting is always a challenge and practice is a good thing!

Project 52 - Back to School.

Project 52 - p52 weekly photo challenge with Kent Weakley
Back to School was a puzzle for me. I don't have kids in school anymore and I don't have grandchildren, so was not sure how to interpret this one!
We have a Sports Park right behind our house and one day this week, the field was full of little kids learning how to play Soccer.
My hubby and I grabbed the cameras and went out for a walk. I guess Soccer is an extracurricular activity of school!
The Fall colours are starting to happen as well. I'll be out and about catching those!
Have a great weekend!

Time moves on.

Pixel Dust Photo Art
Skywatch Friday
One of our favorite rainy day places to go and spend a day at is Granny and Grampa's Antique Barn. Recently one of their huge barns burned almost to the ground so we went out on a sunny day to see how bad the damage was. You can see some of the charred remains in the background of the photo, looking through the spokes of the old wheel hanging on the side of another one of thier barns.
Photos preserve memory of things that have come before. Eventually the remains of this barn will be bulldozed down and probably a new Barn built. This wheel no longer does its day labour but it is preserved for me to see.
