Road Trip

P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley
A few pictures from our recent road trip from our place in Abbotsford out to Medicine Hat in Alberta. These photos were taken while driving through Roger's Pass, the road up and over the Rocky Mountain pass. A fresh snowfall the evening before made the roads very slippery and dangerous with ice and snow.
I just know that this is not the way to park your 18 Wheel Semi. We slid a bit on a patch of ice just before rounding the corner and coming upon this accident.
This pass was one of the areas that I was scared to travel through.
Winter in these areas of B.C. are a dangerous time for travelling or road trips.

We made it to our destination in one piece, thanks to my Hubby who is an awesome driver n any kind of road condition. Left to my own devices I would of flown out rather than drive!!

Very sad to say goodbye to my little buddy, KC. today. I am going to miss her smiles, her standing in her chair with excitement when I walked into the room, her blowing kisses and her Hugs. She taught me so much in a short time, my life is forever enriched to have had her in my life. She's running in heaven now, and the pain she lived with is ours to hold now. She always asked me "what am I doing today?" and I know today she is happy and at peace. Go in love KC, and don't worry about us.

P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley
I am needing this winter frosty thing to get it over and done with in the next few days. While it is pretty to see and fun to photograph our move at the end of next week is going to be more challenging with it. So I am giving it until the end of the weekend to smarten up!
Like it is going to listen to me!!!

Oh, the joy of being cold!!

Pretty to behold,
Oh so cold!

Frozen Water that is!
Everything is super frosty. The roads are skating rinks, the puddles are frozen, the leaves are covered in frost. Its cold cold cold!
The Weatherman threatens snow and it does try but mostly its icy fog and tiny frozen rain pellets.
It kind of looks like a dusting of sugar granules stuck to this leaf!

Camera Critters
Its been a while since I posted some pics of my cats. Their whole world is being turned upside down right now while we pack all our house belongings and grow the huge stack of boxes here and there and everywhere, getting ready for our move in two weeks. They don't know what to make of it all.
The look on Scarf's face right here is to tell me I am getting a bit too close for her comfort with that camera of mine!

Both cats love to sleep on top of the dryer when I am drying clothes. The warmth of the dryer and the noise of it are probably warming and comforting to them.

They won't even sit on the dryer unless it is working.
Speed is our oldest cat at 14 years of age.
Scarf is our youngest cat at 2 years of age.
Both cats were rescue kitties. They are each a bit crazy and have some crazy behaviors but we love them dearly!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Project 52 Sweet Shot - Frozen

P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley
I don't know why but my back yard has a lot of tiny mushrooms growing in the grass this year. Like hundreds of them. And they have never grown in my yard before. I am wondering if it is the deluge of rain we get each and every day. Honestly, I can't remember a day without rain since late fall. We had a couple of days where it got really cold, snowed a bit but created frost on all surfaces.
Like all these mushrooms!

 Scattered Horizons

Found this frozen spider web clinging to the underside of a bench in the park.
I think these kind of look like little planets in a way!!

One thing we have had our share of lately is rain. And more rain! And more....
It sure is good for catching water drops though!
This water drop reflects our back fence and the row of trees along the fence.
I don't know what these grass stalks are, but they really hold the water! Click on the photo and see the reflections in the drops!

Smiling Sally
The name of this blog will tell you I am loving water drops! My never ending challenge is to get a perfect reflection, and I haven't managed that yet!

Tiny macrocosms of water. The world reflecting in a tiny drop!

One of the things I am trying to make myself do is to change my header photo. Should be simple! Sounds simple. Some would say I don't like change! But 2013 is definitely my year of change.
Our house is sold and move out day is three weeks away. We are living amongst boxes as we go about the chore of packing and sorting, keeping and giving away. We are simplifying and downsizing and lessening the load. It feels good, the further we go.
The idea of change on such a big scale is daunting, and here I am resisting the simple act of changing my blog header picture! Go figure!
This year my New Year's resolution is "Reconnect"

I feel like these drops at times. Clinging on to a fine wire, any movement will shake me loose and make me fall. The wind can buffet my position and the heat can dry me up.  Any change can come along and send me for a loop.
Its a risk to take a chance, make a change. I'm trying to embrace it, hell, I am embracing it!!
2013 is my year!

Graffiti

P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley
Here I am again ready to try my hand at another year of Project 52! I actually managed to complete all 52 weeks of the last year's project 52 and I am stoked to do it again!
The other day it was super foggy with Ice Fog and Frost galore so I took my camera for a walk in the park behind our house. This photo was taken of a drawing of graffiti on a metal box that had been scratched out after, leaving this pattern. The sun was shining through the chain link fence directly on the graffiti, lighting it up like this. I thought it made a cool statement!
My first writing of the challenge!
